Branding + website projects for late summer launches

Why to never link “click here” on your website

One of the biggest mistakes I see on websites is people linking the words “click here.”

Especially if you’re not a pro web designer, but you’ve had to create or update your business website yourself, this is an easy mistake to make.

Everyone does it, so it must be fine, right? ??

But here’s the thing:

If you link the words “click here,” on your site, then the actual thing you want someone to do gets buried in the text.

Meaning, if you want someone to “join the waitlist,” “sign up for the newsletter,” or “learn more,” they’re not going to see that… they’ll only see “click here.”

And that’s less likely to get their attention ⚠️

Link the action

If you link the action, that’s what’s going to be visible and it won’t get buried.

If you’re exploring a website and you’re engaged and interested to learn more, you’re going to skim right over the words “click here”…

But “join the waitlist now” is going to catch your attention.

TL;DR: People move through life at the speed of light… make the most important thing stand out ??
